Desire (Full Moon Series Book 3) by Stacy Stone

Desire (Full Moon Series Book 3) by Stacy Stone
Rating: 3 Stars
Release Date: July 6, 2021
Format: eBook (Kindle Unlimited)

I love when a book is standalone but it can be read as part of a bigger series universe.

Desire by Stacy Stone is the story of John, guitarist in the band Full Moon and Jolene, the little sister of Full Moon’s lead singer Max. Their relationship is the subject of this book, but you still get some cameos and appearances from the other members of the band. Thankfully, I was able to understand everything that was going in the series clearly despite not reading the first two books. I plan to go back to read Camille and Jonathan’s story in the first two books, Trust and Fate because their relationship seems awesome.

Jolene is the little sister of Full Moon’s lead singer Max, and at the beginning of the book, she is coping with the death of her parents due to a drunk driver. She joins her brother and his band on their summer tour so she’s not alone and has some time to figure out what she wants to do next. On the tour, she encounters guitarist John who she has VERY intense chemistry with. The only problem? He is in the same band with her brother, and they are best friends so any relationship is a BIG no-no. Both of them know Max would never approve, so it turns into a forbidden romance situation where they have fun together just for the summer with the promise not to fall in love. Of course, things don’t go quite as they planned…

It’s marketed as a “best friend’s sister” novel, but the big reveal happens towards the end of the story so there’s not a lot of time for Max to get mad at John. The “forbidden romance” trope is more of what comes into play with the “best friend’s sister” situation. I’m eager for the next installment in the series, which is the story of Max (Jolene’s big brother from this book), and Valerie, the love of his life that he left behind when he became famous. It comes out on August 27 (less than a week away) so I’m very happy my wait will be short.
